PROFILE
ENFP | The Inspirer

An ENFPs primary mode of living is externally focused, with a primary focus of intuition. The secondary mode is internal, and is driven by personal morals and values.

ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic and fun - loving people, who are typically exceptionally bright and regarded as being full of potential. They live in an optimistic and exciting world, with an enthusiasm which is often contagious, and will inspire and motivate others to lead a similar way of life. Traditionally, they are known to be very persuasive, and strive to make the most out of life in accordance to their own passions and moral foundation.

Highly and diversely talented, they become quite effortlessly skilled in a range of subject matter and interests. Often very project - focused, they may pursue various career paths throughout their lifetime.

With a clear and distinct moral code, the ENFP seeks meaning in everything they do, and have a direct aim to achieve inner peace within their lives.

Unlike other extraverted types, ENFPs will often need time alone to themselves, with a clear focus on their personal passions. ENFPs who remain centred in their own lives will often be successful in their goals and aims in life.

ENFPs typically have great people skills, being warm and interested in people, placing high importance upon inter - personal relationships, often with a strong will or the feeling of a need to be liked.

ENFPs are happy people, working best in situations of flexibility, working with concepts and people, many of which, as a result, create their own businesses, with the ability to be productive with little supervision, as long as they remain passionate and enthused about all of their endeavours.

In summary, the ENFP is a charming, sensitive, genuine, and people - oriented type, with skills, gifts, and capabilities across a vast range of subjects.

Romantic Relationships

ENFPs make warm, considerate and passionate partners who are optimistic and idealistic about their relationships, often very focused on the feelings of others. Generally speaking, ENFPs take commitment and loyalty very seriously, and are incredibly faithful individuals.

Many ENFPs are dependent and idealistic to the point of which, however, they may have difficulty leaving a bad relationship, and internalise problems and issues, and taking responsibility for problems, whether they were truly the cause or not.

However, due to the difficulty to retain focus, which the ENFPs often possesses, which may often lead to a difficulty in maintaining a long - term relationship. If they are not paired with a partner who also enjoys new and exciting experiences, and share their optimistic ideologies, the ENFP may become bored and look elsewhere, after an extended period of unhappiness.

Due to the importance placed upon their relationships, ENFPs often have a very "hands on" approach, and have a strong perception and awareness of how their partner is feeling. Although their inquisitive and questioning nature is often out of love, it may, at times, feel smoothering.

The ENFP naturally needs to be given positive assurance and affirmation in their life, and have the need to feel loved and valued, as they enjoy to make others feel valued and loved, often getting a lot of satisfaction from making other people happy.

A natural match for the ENFP is an INTJ or INFJ, as the ENFPs dominant function of Extraverted Intuition is considered to be best matched with a partner whose dominant function is Introverted Intuition, such as the examples above. However, the ENFP is extremely sensitive to criticism, and will often take it very personally, being known to "brush issues under the carpet" as opposed to dealing with them head - on, or "give in" to avoid conflict situations.

Friendships

ENFPs are warm, sociable people who are known to be highly intuitive and perceptive of the feelings and emotions of others. Often fun, eneregetic and outgoing, the natural extrovert gains a great level of joy from supporting and encouraging others. As idealists, the seek authenticity and meaning within personal relationships, and, as a result, are often valued as warm, supportive and generous.

In the workplace or in business environments, ENFPs will usually get along with others with great ease and are genuinely interested in the lives of others, being able to understand and relate to people with ease and intuition.  They often see the best, and bring this out of people.

ENFPs may often feel threatened by individuals with strong, judging preferences, and will often take criticism quite personally, finding themselves emotional when a judging type expresses a negative opinion, often feeling they have caused them to disapprove, or the be disappointed.

ENFPs are especially drawn to other intuitive types, and often to other extraverts who are enthusiastic about living their lives to the fullest. They are most likely to have friends from all walks of life that they feel a genuine affection for, and have a few very close friends with ideals similar to their own.

Parenthood

Although often serious, ENFPs can make very playful parents, with a "grown up child" attitude and involvement with the child's growth. Their seriousness is reflected in their high morals and strongly - held values and beliefs to be bestowed upon their children, and strive to create a positive, and idealistic environment, however, this can often be confusing and inconsistent; which may be confusing or frustrating for the child.

Children of ENFPs generally feel loved, with a wealth of warmth and support, the child being valued as an individual for scope for development and personal growth.

The natural creativity and imagination of the ENFP will create a fun and inspiring environment for the child, which will often result in values of high morals with a warm and fun - loving approach to life.
