FMP | Editorial Design Proposals for Yearbook

Design and editorial proposals for feedback in tomorrow's Yearbook meeting in regards to idea generation for the yearbook design.

Considering the great variation, and often somewhat abstract nature of the design work that will be featured, and photographic imagery in the yearbook, I decided to keep the proposed layout very clean and simple, with a great consideration for the use of white space. If the layout, itself, were to be too abstract, I feel the design could look overwhelming, and be on the wrong side of our "scrapbook" concept.

Shown here with the placeholder marble cover image (sourced in earlier posts), I really hope to showcase the work with a lot of photographic imagery throughout, based around a square grid system, which, with a possible four images per page, will ensure that each designer gets the opportunity for equal exposure of their work, and, again, creates a high-end, almost look book - like, scrapbook style, with insight for industry, and a nostalgic memory for the designers themselves of their time on the course.

PDFs shown above and below show both the proposed single and double page spreads (although the latter looks a little unusual through Issuu...).
