Leeds College of Art Year Boook | BAGD Year Book Cover

After a group meeting this morning, we decided to pursue the use of rounded Trade Gothic Condensed Bold Oblique type I had been using for a placeholder typeface (one of which I would go on to develop in Fontographer, were we selected/continued to use the type/similar type style), of which I have gone on to apply to both the cover and CD case (for the module/yearbook pitch board submission), the cover of which will go on to be laser cut tomorrow onto black card, a great suggestion from fellow group members Kirsty Alderson, Kirsty Hardingham and Claudia Griffin, to reflect the crafting nature of the course, with a white backing sheet of paper. Due to the nature of the cut, the counters have been removed from the letterforms, and I have traced outside of the letters for a clean cut in the laser cut programme.

Hopefully the time and effort spent on the smaller details will really pay off and be conveyed in the photographs, supporting our concept development for the yearbook and supporting us to achieve a high standard of work and a really strong course to work with for the yearbook brief.
