Geek Table | First Group Meeting

Today the members of 'Geek Table' for the Geek Table Collective brief, consisting of Baljeet Samra, Beth Yates, Lisa Whitaker, Claudia Griffin, Sarah Pritchard, Kirsty Alderson and Kirsty Hardingham, to discuss what we hope to achieve from the additional brief to help resolve a more considered and structured brief, as, at this point, we had not yet had the chance to sit down and discuss our ideas.
The notes below show the topics and decisions agreed upon.

NOTES

* Look up Form 55 collective (set up by Chris Jackson of Elmwood)- potential inspiration for the success and notoriety that collective's can bring.
* Contact and input from one another- an informal means of feedback and connections as we go on through graduation.
* Set briefs that we can each respond to and create a collective body of 'Geek Table' work.
* Building up creative contacts through open submissions.
* Potentially go to colleges to do talks for project submissions- contact Jane at LCA college?
* Monday mornings, 11am-12pm, Show work, discuss progress throughout the week.
* Set a competition throughout the whole brief for open submissions to be exhibited at an event at the end of the year.
* Exhibit to SHOW work, not to sell.
* Ensure that branding is complete before the date of dissertation submission, and then concentrate on generating our body of work (fortnightly).
* Invite creative professionals and freelancers to exhibit work to get attention from design studios and to also help encourage our professional practice as we make contacts within the industry for potential industry experience/collaboration.
